NEW YORK'S SKYSCRAPERS WALKING TOUR

New York Pass

This is like a zigzag tour that passes buildings that marked the city's architectural history. It begins with the baroque towered Helmsley Building in Park avenue, crosses park Avenue and ends at the cathedral of saint Patricks.

Built in 1929 as the New York Central Building to house the railroad company, the Helmsley Building is white towered but unfortunaltely in 1963 the Pan Am ( now met Life ) Building went up blocking any clear view of it. Continuing north 3 blocks there is the famed Waldorf Astoria Hotel, famous for being the presidency hotel.

The tour continues to the General Electric Building as complement to the saint Bartholomew church located nearby. We will se also the SOny building which is the first postmodern skyscraper.
